URBAN ART OASIS
Zero Mentale is an artist born in Padua in 1972. After graduating from the P. Selvatico Art Institute in Padua, he earned a degree in Architecture in Venice. His training focused on airbrushing techniques and the research of new materials, leading to a constant emotional evolution in the art of painting. His passion for airbrushing has significantly contributed to Zero Mentale’s artistic identity, refining his handling and technique of materials. His works are distinguished by a glossy and translucent surface, achieved through the skillful use of various varnishes, giving them a strong visual impact, stylistic value, and remarkable precision of line.
Zero Mentale’s artistic creation starts from an observation that translates into compositions through the creation of a “mental impulse” called a synapse. This process begins from a nerve ending and develops into a complex journey of thoughts that unwind through shapes and colors. The concept of the synapse, which means “to touch” and “to connect,” allows for the communication and structuring of a concept within his pictorial work. The configurations that Zero Mentale composes represent the birth of a form.
The artist doesn’t limit himself to expressing only “mental impulses,” but also “creative impulses,” giving voice to thoughts in a surreal way. We find ourselves before a world created solely by suggestions, where what reaches the viewer’s eyes are the foundations of mental creation imagined by the author.
In recent years, Zero Mentale has moved closer to the world of Street Art, embracing contemporary urban life. He has created murals, graffiti, and messages that resonate with the beating heart of metropolitan life. The use of sprays, paints, airbrushes, and stencils allows his messages to leave an imprint on the skin of the city.
Currently, Zero Mentale lives and works in Padua, continuing his artistic journey and enriching the contemporary art scene at Malibu Beach in Jesolo with his creativity.
Il Bòcolo
A tribute to Venice
The Venetian “bòcolo” is the flower symbolizing passion, given to one’s beloved on St. Mark’s Day.
In the artist’s surreal reinterpretation, crimson fabric ribbons fold and twist in the abstract space of a turquoise background, creating the illusion of another reality where the brain perceives them as roses.
A double reality created through simple shapes, an abstract space where the illusion makes us reflect on the varied forms of love and question its true essence.
A tribute to love but above all to Venice, the ultimate place of art and the heart, in its dual essence as a city of dreams and a real place, often divided between the illusion of those who dream of it and the daily difficulties of those who live there.
Blow and Synapses
My conceptual interpretation of the sky and the sea.
The interaction between light blue, white, and blue blends at the horizon where the sky and sea meet, creating a single chromatic symphony.
